It would be nice, if you had a handheld GPS, to be able to import the last “track” data from it and match it with the EXIF time/date info of your photos, so you could have a plotted map track where each photo was taken. Also for people without a gps, one could just point on a map / type in city name or address for the batch of photos to plot them on a geographical location. It would be useful to be able to search by location later. The gps track thingy would be just sweet though :)
I guess f-spot could detect if a gps device is attached to the computer (/dev/gps or something?) and it could use NMEA protocol to fetch the “tracks” (stored plotted routes) from the unit - and it could be also possible to input an address or point on a map or something to set the location for the imported batch.
Or it could use the system “Location” info that for example Evolution uses for the calendar.
