It might possibly be neat to upload images to an open stock photo website such as: http://o2.openphoto.net/
Definately uploading images in a blog post would be wanted, with something like what Nat is doing at http://nat.org/ – this can be done with blog software by use of an API such as Blogger’s, LiveJournal’s, MT’s, and Atom (which is not just an RSS alternative, but also a new weblog API too): http://www.dynamicobjects.com/d2r/archives/001921.html

Raw files and Linux
Various panoramaic packages for Linux – most notabile are hugin, autopano-sift, libsift, enblend dcraw, dcraw-gimp-plugin
RawPhoto plugin for the GIMP (with updating preview)
dcraw – the essential 3rd party raw conversion software (used in one way or the other by everything non-vendor)
“GNOME integration of digital camera RAW format MINI HOWTO” – (making GNOME support raw files via dcraw)
photoproc - “Simple and fast photo postprocessing editor with sensitometrically correct 48-bit workflow for both digital and scanned photos. Contrast, exposure, color corrections, cropping, USM. Supports Canon/Nikon/etc digital camera RAW files using dcraw utility.”

Cinepaint – fork of old version of the GIMP; has higher bit-per-channel support than GIMP, so it may have a bit of interesting stuff somewhere, although much of it is on crack.
