I was able to complete this task.
The path I took to the Edit menu was: gedit → filename → 1st <no name> → 1st <no name> → 1st <no name> → 1st <no name> → Edit
Once in the Edit tab I highlighted Select All and clicked Take Action. These steps selected all of the text. To Copy, Paste, and Insert Date and Time, I highlighted each individually and then clicked Take Action.
