F-Spot Photo Enhancement

• Sidebar should be collapsible
• Image should be zoom-able
• There needs tobe a color picker to set the white balance from a point
• Adjustment should work on all files (JPEG, TIFF and raw are examples)
• Raw files should be manipulated in a 16-bit workspace
• Raw files will look (and act) different that other files – but only when necessary (source color temp is already known; should try to use dcraw for operations whenever possible)
• Image preview should instantly update with the latest changes
• General profiles (and color balance profiles) should adjust the other widgets automatically
• If a profile is selected and a widget changes from the profile, then the profile should switch to “Custom” automatically
• Sharpen should sharpen the luminance channel (with a mask based on “find edges”) with an unsharp mask, and should always be performed last (more detail on the sharpening method)
• The profiles should be available in batch processing
• There should be an option (somewhere) to slowly blink overexposed areas
• Much of the raw stuff (of what dcraw can do at least) could be swiped from the RawPhoto plugin for GIMP
• Non-raw files could rely upon LittleCMS a bit more than raw files
