Full Screen Mode

Full screen mode seems like it should be very simple. Users looking at an image full screen want to be able to see the image as large as their display can show it. Users should be able to zoom and pan. They should also be able to do small edits to the image: rotate it, for example.

A toolbox is shown as the mouse moves to the upper right hand corner.

The buttons are:

  • Previous Image (Backspace; Left Arrow) , Next Image (Space; Right Arrow)
  • Zoom Out ( - ), Zoom 1 to 1 ( = ), Zoom In ( + ), Fit to Screen (ENTER)
  • I like this Image (Up Arrow), I don’t like this Image (Down Arrow)
  • Rotate Clockwise ( > ), Rotate Counter-Clockwise ( < )
  • Add a desription or apply tags (* ; d)
  • Email Image, Print Image (e; p)
  • Delete Image (Delete)
  • Exit Fullscreen (ESC)

Adding Image Navigation

A common task in full screen mode is viewing multiple images. For example, after importing a dozen or more images, you might want to view all of them at full screen. In this case, a preview might be useful.

Without Transparency

And maybe transparency is too hard or too ugly. Maybe the image should be somewhat smaller so nothing is overlaying the image.

Dual Head

Extra functionality should be available when the system has multiple displays.

  • Fullscreen viewer on one display, browser on the other
