Gnome Chess

Gnome Chess is a GUI chess client for the GNOME system which runs on Linux and other unix like systems. Currently users can play against local chess engines like GNU Chess and Crafty, log in and play on chess servers like the Free Internet Chess Server and view PGN files.

Gnome Chess is made available under the GNU General Public License.

  Fixes bug when connecting to servers
• 05/31/2001 - Release of version 0.3.1
  New features include click-click piece movement, experimental auto flag code, tidying. Bugs fixes include analysis, beep on move working again.
• 05/06/2001 - Release of version 0.3.0
  New features include multiple, resizable, appearance configurable boards. Typing history for servers, extended preferences.
• 11/06/99 - Release of version 0.2.4
  Bug fixes for zvt widget 'blackout problem' and local chess engine game navigation.
